The battle of MATTHIAS and LADY DEATH raged on planes both real and imagined. But the intervention of LADY DEATH'S mother's soul told her that they were all pawns of the TRUEST evil. Armed with the knowledge, she forced MATTHIAS-LUCIFER to reveal the whole truth: her entire life was a game meant for Lucifer's amusement. He simply wanted to see if he could corrupt a child of light. MATTHIAS was only his pawn.
